Arizona to Alaska: Day 1 - Utah

Woke up at 4:30AM, moved out of the apartment, worked a 12 hour ER shift until 7:30PM, then drove 6 hours north towards Alaska, but ended up just across the Arizona border in the best state in the country, Utah.

4.5 hours of sleep later, woke up, rode my bike for an hour, drank some coffee, then drove 6 more hours to SLC where we will be for the next week getting organized for the trip to Alaska.

Drove 10 miles down this road and found a campsite for my tire brain.

The Utah desert is in bloom.

Morning bike ride down a cool wash.

Shower, then head out to Kanab.

Arizona was amazing, and I felt a sentimental about the Sonoran Desert when I left.  It's nice to be back with family though, planning the next adventure north.

  1. The desert has it's own beauty, we love it too. Enjoy your travels to Alaska and be safe out there!
