Arizona to Alaska: Day 19 & 20 - Home!

A rest day in Prince Rupert to check into the ferry system and get our affairs in order before the early 2:00am wake up call to get in line by 3:15am.  Well, we didn't sleep much and I auto-woke up at 1:30 and we left by 2:15.  LONG morning waiting to board, as the ferry crew juggled all the huge RV's and other vehicles to get us all on the ship.  Then a hazy and cold morning with gradual clearing and a pleasant 6 hour ride north with some mile sea sickness at times.  Arrived in Ketchikan under windless, cloudless skies (rare for this place) and settled into our new apartment which is amazing!

Work starts Monday............

Prince Rupert mini downtown area, sort of the tourist area.

Alex with the locals

After three weeks of peeing in the woods and nightly campfires, he turned into somewhat of a barbarian and also insisted on campfire toast one more night.

Leaving Prince Rupert

Despite massive sleep deprivation, we were excited

Maybe 30 miles south of Ketchikan

Just south of town

Deer Mountain and cruise ships

Our housing in the middle of the pic

Our new view

Hard to get any closer to the water

Eagles are everywhere.  Seven of them sitting there.
