Launched at Mountain Point today and went out into Nichols Passage briefly, then into a small bay to check out a mooring buoy for future camping, then up into Carroll Inlet a ways. Out in the distance we thought we saw a pod of orca because of all the frequent spouting, or what we thought was spouting. Turns out as we got closer it was actually a solo humpback breaching over and over again, then doing pectoral fin splashes. We watched it for a few minutes, then poof, it was gone. No whale pics.
