We went to California after quitting a really undesirable travel job and were a bit gun shy about going there. We had the option of going to St. George (a place we love), or Palm Springs (where we have family). We've always been leery of California, assuming the work environment would be terrible, etc, etc. Turns out this particular hospital was pretty good, old and a bit run down, but overall a good experience.
It was also nice to be close to Niki's brother and family. Alex got to get to know and play with his cousin, and we all got to know each other a little bit better. The other good things were a great trip to the ocean, mountain biking in the hills behind the campground, a nice KOA in Banning that we stayed at, and the generally good weather of the desert.
They hospital offered us another travel assignment next November, but I think we are going to try to get something a little closer to the ocean next time. All in all, California was a huge success, and an experience that certainly helped us want to continue to do RV life for a while longer.
