Whales, Rain, and Sunshine

5" of rain means what else, we should go to the beach.  Went down to Coast Guard beach and had a campfire in the downpour.  What else are you going to do?  Then after a weekend of work, the sun came out, the winds were light, and Alex spotted a humpback in George Inlet.  None of us believed him, but sure enough, we spent about 40 minutes watching a lone humpback feed along the shore, the it vanished.
