Continued sideways rain and a low cloud deck, what to do? Left the house at 11:00 with the truck camper, drove to the end of the road on the south island, witnessing raging rivers pouring over the rocky roadside cliffs along the way. Then a stop at the popular fishing area of Herring Cove, where the river meets the sea.
The clouds have lifted tonight, and better weather is in the forecast. The learning curve to be comfortable in this weather continues. Alex and Niki have it figured out, more or less. I'm still working on it. Got new boots today that allow thick socks to be worn, now I just need some good waterproof pants. The theme seems to be leave the house after breakfast, have lunch in the truck camper with the heat running, then go hang out by the sea, then come home and dry out.

The new digs look incredible! Great find. Talked to many folks who think Ketchikan is they're favorite place in AK. Enjoy!
